A few BankVibe readers have tipped me off on a slew of new CD (certificate of deposit) promotions going on through US Bank. Don’t get too excited, their rates aren’t anything to gawk at, but they still stomp on the national average for CD rates. They have just been published to their website (USBank.com) and have gone into effect today. They are also available nationwide so, unlike most CD rate promotions, there are no geographical restrictions here.

Current – US Bank CD Rate’s (Promotional)

  • 13 month certificate of deposit with interest rate of 2.13% and an APY of 2.15%. Minimum deposit required is $1,000.
  • 37 month certificate of deposit with interest rate of 2.96% and an APY of 3.00%. Minimum deposit required is $1,000.
  • 59 month certificate of deposit with interest rate of 3.92% and an APY of 4.00%. Minimum deposit required is $1,000. (This is their highlighted rate and best offer of the three)

Terms and Conditions:

Annual Percentage Yield (APY) assumes principal and interest remain on deposit for the term of the certificate. All interest payments for the advertised APY will be made at the end of the term or annually, whichever occurs first. Penalty will be imposed for early withdrawal. APY is subject to change without prior notice. CDs are automatically renewed at maturity.

- Also note that these CD’s are not eligible as IRA CD’s.
