Top IRA CD Rates through American Christian Credit Union
Warning: The rates featured on this page are likely outdated. Visit our CD Rates Center for updated rates and special offers.
The American Christian Credit Union is offering some of the best rates for IRA CD’s at this time. Their featured IRA CD’s consists of a 24 month certificate of deposit yielding 3.25% APY (national average hoovering around 2.15% APY) and a 48 month yielding 4.00% APY (national average around 2.50% APY).
Joining this credit union may require overcoming a few obstacles though. First, if you would like to take advantage of their financial products they require that you are of the same faith (seems a bit 1950′s to me). They actually go as far as to require you to sign a statement of faith before even considering you for eligibility.
They claim to be a credit union deeply rooted in a “Wesleyan Holiness Identity.” If this is the religion you practice then you will likely have no problems joining. They are not geographically exclusive, therefor you may join without being near a local branch.

Although, it seems 1950s, for Christians, it is worth applauding. In theory, you would expect to see lower loan losses and loan problems. And for Christians that enjoy the credit union movement it is a positive on two fronts.
The 2Y and 4Y are certainly attractive rates.
Also, before giving tar and feathers, note that I said “in theory”. We re all sinners after all.
