M&T Bank Checking Account Bonus – $100

May 8, 2009 No Comments »

If you have been planning on opening a new checking account (or better yet, if this is your first checking account), then this checking deal from M&T Bank may be just what you’re looking for!

First, let me point out that the exact bonus amount varies from zip code to zip code, however we tested a dozen different zip codes up and down the west coast and were offered the $100 bonus on all of them. You may want to punch in your zip code on their website to see what your exact bonus amount would be. Visit MTB.com see what their current bonus structure is or to locate a branch near you.

M&T Bank has a number of checking account options to chose from – three of which have the potential of accruing monthly fees. Their “Free Checking Account” is ideal for new bank customers who don’t have a large balance and are just looking for the simplest form of checking. Their “MyChoice” checking account is the next step up, but may come with a $6.95 monthly fee if you don’t either set up at least one direct deposit or carry a average daily balance of at least $500. Next is their “MyChoice Plus Checking” account. There will be a $14.95 monthly fee if you don’t carry an average minimum daily balance of at least $2,500. Their “MyChoice Premium Checking” account comes with the most features but carries monthly fees of $24.95 if you can’t keep an average daily balance of at least $7,500.

Compare this offer with other bank deals we’ve most recently covered in our archives. If you don’t reside near a M&T Bank then you may want to look into Chase Bank’s infamous $100 checking promotion, but be aware of the fees!
