I.O.U.S.A. – Addressing America's Debt

For those of you who have not yet seen the movie I.O.U.S.A. I suggest you set aside some time to see it. I think this movie accurately addresses some of the underlying issues that have contributed to the financial crisis within our country (and the world). Don’t worry, there isn’t a chubby guy named Moore knocking on random doors or interviewing teary-eyed parents to fulfill his own agenda….just hard facts provided by certified professionals.

Here is a 30 minute compilation clip for those of you who don’t have the time to view the whole movie.

The authors’ suggest that we’re on the brink of a financial meltdown. The new movie I.O.U.S.A. boldly examines the rapidly growing national debt and its consequences for the United States and its citizens.

Featuring Warren Buffett and other financial leaders, I.O.U.S.A. follows former US Comptroller General Dave Walker as he travels across the country on his “Fiscal Wake-Up Tour,” explaining the problem of the national debt and inspiring people to take action in their own communities. Now, we’re inviting you to join Dave and others in the Fiscal Wake-Up Movement and do your part to help stop America from going broke.

Final Note: We are undoubtedly in need of gov. assistance for our current economic crisis (ie. A Bail Out Plan)…but more importantly is how our government behaves financially once the dust has settled. The following administration(s) needs to shift some focus towards balancing our budget. Basically our country has maxed out 10 credit cards which were issued by China, parts of Europe and India (among others) and is pretty much relying on kids currently in elementary school to repay this debt. We must attack the underlying issues of our economy once the short term problems are sorted out. Unfortunately fixing our short term problems means applying for one more credit card…
