IBERIABANK Visa® Platinum Card Review
IBERIABANK’s Visa® Platinum Card is a popular option for those with rock solid credit scores. It comes with one of the lowest APR’s in the industry as well as some very noteworthy rewards. The only real negative aspect of this credit card (when compared to all the other offers in it’s category) is that the design of the card is fairly simple and somewhat bland. However, this boring feature can be overlooked once weighed against the benefits and money-saving APR(s).
IBERIABANK Visa® Platinum Card facts:
- No annual membership fee
- Low variable rate of 9.25%, 12.25%, or 15.25% (Prime + 6.00%, Prime + 9.00%, or Prime + 12.00%) as of 4/1/10 based on the creditworthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. (If there is an interest charge, the charge will be no less than $1.00).
- Low Introductory ARP on balance transfers of 1.99% for your first 6 billing cycles, this rate will not change during the introductory period. Applies to balance transfers processed within three months of your account open date. After that, your APR will be the same as your assigned purchase rate, based on your creditworthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.
- Earn 1 bonus point for every $1 in qualifying net retail purchases
- Turn your points into hotel, gift, or experience rewards
- Travel accident coverage up to $1,000,000
- Online access to credit card account information
Use as a balance transfer credit card to help you save: If you are thinking about making a balance transfer to benefit from IberiaBank’s low APRs you will incur an industry low intro APR to help you save. Within the first six months of establishing an account, your APR will be 1.99% for balance transfers. After that, a reasonably low rate will established.
Use as a rewards credit card for free stuff and gifts! Your approval also entitles you to a fee-free automatic membership to what they call a “ScoreCard Bonus Point Program.” With it, you’ll earn one bonus point for every dollar you spend on purchases using your new IberiaBank Visa Platinum Rewards Card. Your earned points can then be redeemed for merchandise, hotel accommodations, travel, gourmet dinners and more.

i got approved with sub 600 credit score before the meltdown…it’s prob similar though

Nowadays you have to have very good credit to get approved for almost any of the IBERIA Bank credit cards.
