Chase Bank’s “Commuter Cash” Promotion: $50

September 5th, 2009 Posted in Bank Deals!

How many bank bonuses can Chase bank issue in a single month?

Once again Chase bank is offering an opportunity for new and existing customers to secure themselves some extra cash. Thanks to BankVibe reader Eric for submitting this promo over the weekend!

…So here is the scoop:

As of September 1, 2009, Chase is offering New York City commuters a chance to get $50 cash dropped into their checking account after a few qualifying purchases are made. Essentially this promo functions the same way as any cash back credit card would in that you purchase certain items which the bank has approved as “eligible” items for cash back. Then at the end of the month the bank will issue you a percentage of the overall amount spent (in this case up to $50) on the eligible purchases.

With this promotion Chase will give you $50 cash back on typical New York City-esque expenditures such as taxi cabs, New Jersey transit fares, etc.

Here are the eligible items or expenditures for this cash back promo:

-MetroCard Vending Machines, for EasyPayXpress™ MetroCard refills, LIRR, Metro-North, PATH and NJ TRANSIT fare purchases, and payments made at New York City Yellow Cabs.

Here is how you set it up:

  1. Enroll your Chase debit and/or credit card by November 15, 2009.
  2. Transactions made at MetroCard Vending Machines, for EasyPayXpress MetroCard refills, LIRR, Metro-North, PATH and NJ TRANSIT fare purchases, and payments made at New York City Yellow Cabs are all eligible.
  3. The cash award (maximum of $50) will be automatically posted as a statement credit to your enrolled credit card, or to the Chase checking account linked to the enrolled debit card by December 15, 2009.

Visit their promo page for more details.
