Bank of Internet’s money market account rate: 1.70% APY

July 23rd, 2009 Posted in money market accounts

A couple weeks ago we covered the unusually high interest rate in which Bank of Internet was offering on it’s savings account. What we failed to mention was their very noteworthy money market savings rate as well. While not quite as high as their “advantage savings” (currently yielding 2.50% APY), it still yields a respectable 1.70% APY. The national average for money market rates sits at roughly 1.20% APY so the 1.70% APY offer is a fairly decent one in comparison.

Since following the rates offered by Bank of Internet, we haven’t scene them dip below the national average. FDIC insured and publicly traded (NASDAQ:BOFI), Bank of Internet offers traditional banking and loan services entirely over the Internet.

Bank of Internet’s current interest rates and product offers:

Money Market Savings: Yields 1.70% APY regardless of balance amount. Carries a variable rate that is subject to change without notice.

Advantage Savings Account: Yields 2.50% APY with a minimum balance amount of just $1. This account also has a variable interest rate.

High Yield Savings Account: Yields 2.04% APY with a minimum balance of $100. This account carries no fees and no balance requirements.
